Responsible Mining Development for the Energy Transition
Leading the clean-energy transition with sustainable mining practices
Lithium for Tomorrow, Responsibility Today
Providing lithium to power tomorrow’s EVs, energy storage and devices is vital, but doing it responsibly and sustainably is even more critical.
Environmental Sustainability
Sustainability is at the Core of All We Do
We are committed to responsible mining and environmental sustainability, making it a cornerstone of our operations.
As North America’s Critical-Mineral Powerhouse, PMET’s product will be a key element of the clean technologies and carbon-smart practices that lead the global energy transition. Our approach prioritizes reducing environmental impacts, upholding ethical standards, and embracing long-term corporate sustainability, ensuring a project that maximizes local benefits and contributes to an overall reduction of greenhouse gases.
- UL 2723 ECOLOGO® Certification: Independent third-party recognition of PMET‘s environmental, social, and economic stewardship in mineral exploration.
- Environmental Baseline Studies: 2022–2025 field programs with WSP and Cree partner Niigaan covering water, wildlife, soils, wetlands, archaeology, and more to support the ESIA.
- Environmental Policy: Concrete commitments to cut GHGs, minimize waste, protect wetlands, use resources efficiently, train staff, and plan for site closure.
- Permitting: A structured permitting process aligned with the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA), including provincial and federal impact assessments and their participation mechanisms with Indigenous and local communities.
